downloading and reading a HTML document

I receive attachments in HTML format but MSWord won't
translate. How do I get document into plain text.
 
You have received the "html" virus. There should be
some postings on how to get rid of "html" virus. Ask
question in main question section on MS help page.

I'm not sure about Word, but you can open the HTML in a web browser
(Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, etc.), then save as plain text
from there.
