Download to closed account?

I had to close/reopen a credit card account. Even after I closed the
old account in Money 2006, Money continued to download new transactions
there instead of into the register for the open account. It took a
week or two before I noticed that no new transactions were appearing in
the open account, and dug around to find them in the closed one.

To get the new transactions into the right account, it seemed as if
Merge duplicate accounts could help. When I go to that dialogue, it
shows both accounts and offers to let me merge either with other
unrelated credit card accounts, but not with each other. (This gave me
one of those WTF? moments.) I've discovered that I can copy
transactions, one at a time, from one account to the other (only 4
clicks/transaction!).

Which gets me to a question I've periodically had with money: is there
any way to select multiple transactions at once for similar treatment?
Or does MS believe that this is too much power to put in the hands of
Money users?

Is there any other way, besides manual entry, to move the downloaded
entries into the right account?

And, what do I do to ensure that, in the future, new downloaded
transactions go to the correct account?

Any help would be appreciated.

You are in the wrong newsgroup. This deals with Microsoft's Directory

Try going to the microsoft.public.money newsgroup and posting there. I
believe you are talking about accounts within the Microsoft Money
Application.
