DOWNLOAD PROBLEM

When I download any file or program (exe files as well as mp3 audio files
from archives) it immediately starts saving to somewhere (probably
"temporary' file). Nothing pops-up showing the download in progress. Just
the Status Bar at the bottom of the browser says "Downloading from.....".
How can I set up IE6 to ask where to save before it starts downloading. Can
someone please help? Much appreciated. -RD

1. Open Explorer
2. Click the TOOLS menu
3. Select FOLDER OPTIONS
4. Then select FILE TYPES tab

Locate the file type (extension), click ADVANCED and click EDIT.
Note the "confirm download" box. Check it.

Thanks for your kind reply.
I did the same thing several times. It won't help. I'd like to mention that,
I downloaded QuickTime software few days ago for the first time. I didn't
like it. I uninstalled immediately. Since then I noticed this problem. This
is a serious problem for me. I download a lot of audio everyday. I need to
save them where I want to. And, also don't want it play immediately after it
downloads "somewhere". Very frustrating. Please help me here.
