Download ing mpg's and avi's

Hi. I've been trying to download movie clips, I can "save
to disk" but can't "open from current location".

It used to work in the past, last time maybe a few months
ago. I'd click on mpg or avi file and box would come up
asking me to "open from current location" OR "save to
disk". If I chose to "open from current location", it
would open media player and start playing however much it
had downloaded until complete thus allowing me to see a
bit of the movie judging if I want the entirety. That's
all I want it to do again. But I have no idea what I
could've touched to change this from working.

For example, let's say that on one page there were five
files, a zip, rar, wmv, mpg, and avi. If I click on zip or
rar, a box comes up asking if I want to "open file from
current location" OR "save to disk", both options are
available to me. Fine.

If I click on the wmv, it immediately opens my media
player and starts playing however much it has downloaded
until complete. Fine. Now, if I click on mpg or avi files,
a box comes up asking if I want to "open from current
location" OR "save to disk", the only thing is, the "open
from current location" is greyed out leaving the only
available option to "save to disk". Not fine.

I tried it multiple times and it only greys out when
trying to get mpg or avi files, all other file types work
normal. I would like to be able to "open from current
location" so I can see if I like the movie and want to
continue to download the entire movie or not as some are
quite large. There must be a setting somewhere for this.
Hope this is clear and someone knows the answer to this
dilemma.

Hey. I also have the same problem. I all started after I
had installed a package containing several codecs. It was
the SLD codec package. I love the package, but I do miss
being able to watch parts of an mpeg before deciding if I
want it or not.
