Double spacing after a period

I have read all of the posts related to this issue but can't find my problem
or solution. Maybe someone can help. I am using Office Professional 2003 at
home and on several machines at work. My home version of Word automaticly
inserts two spaces after the period. This is the only place that I have seen
do this. How can I make this stop so that I can control how many spaces I
want. You can imagine how frustrating this is when typing IP addresses.

Dale,

Sounds like someone has created an AutoCorrect entry changing "." to
". "
Tools>AutoCorrect Options>AutoCorrect and look down the list for the
offending entry.

I'm not convinced that is even possible? I suspect that input language
issues are at work here - check Windows regional settings and keyboard
configuration.

Graham,

It is possible in both Word2003 and Word2007. At least here on my side of
the world ;-)

Hmmm! I can't say that I have ever been able to make it work here?

Graham,

I realize that it's not possible to create an autocorrect for ". "

Have you tried "."

You are right, that was the problem. Thanks very much. This has been driving
me crazy for a long time.
