How do I change the mouse on desktop from double clicking to a single click
on an icon
 
Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Folder Options > Single-Click

Double-click My Computer.
On the Tools menu, click Folder Options.
On the General tab, select "Single-click to open an item.."
Click Apply to save your settings change.
Click OK.
