Double-click a cell containing a formula

When a cell containing a formula is double-clicked, normal behaviour is that
the selection moves to the cell whose reference is the (first) argument in
the formula, even if it is on another sheet. If the sheet containing the
formula is fully protected, one would expect this behaviour to be inhibited -
but no! If the formula cell happens to be selected when the sheet is
protected, then double-clicking anywhere on the sheet takes the user
(mysteriously) to another sheet. Does anyone know how to prevent this
behaviour on a protected sheet?

Thats never happened for me, I would like to know how to do that in the
first place, so you double click on the cell with a formula, and if the
formula refers to another sheet it will take you there??
Whats your formula?

That's standard action for double-clicking a formula cell.

Hi Davesexcel,
Any formula, eg =Sheet2!A1.
I have re-tested, and this behaviour is standard for all XL97 to XL2002(XP),
but not for XL2003 (on my PC's). So has MS changed this? It is still a
problem for users on levels other than 2003.

Correction to my last posting.
It does happen on XL 2003 aswell. But it only happens on any level if the
Option "Edit directly in cell" is unchecked.
