Dotted lines ?

Hi,

This is probably a simple problem but its got me
stumped , When I select a button in an application or a
web page I get a dotted line appear around it and its not
even a true border shape but it sometimes has a small
square at the bottom right corner , Im sure it wasnt like
this when I first got it ?

any ideas ?

The small square is a puzzle for me, but dots around the border of a button
just indicate it's the currently active button. Hitting ENTER key will do
whatever it is supposed to do. Use Tab key to run forward through them and
Shift +Tab to back up.
