dotcomtoolbar hijacked autosearch

I don't know if you call it autosearch but, it is the function built into IE
when you type in a URL incorrectly it automatically brings you to Microsoft
and then it tells you other possible URL's. If that wasn't annoying enough
now dotcomtoolbar has hijacked IE's autosearch on my system.

Does anyone have information concerning this? I see listings on Google about
it but in Russian or German.

What is really odd is I haven't agreed to install any software from the web.
When I do it is only three things I agree to dnload. Updates from Microsoft
when I'm at windowsupdate.microsoft.com, Adobe Acrobat if I decide it's time
to update and the same for Macromedia Flash. Anything else I shitcan.

We need to stop calling this crap spyware and call it what it is treating it
accordingly: VIRUS. Any program installed on your system without your
knowledge should be considered a VIRUS and as such the companies producing
the software should be held liable for criminal and civil penalties in a
court of law. I say string the bastards up and let them hang until they are
dead, dead, DEAD.

No, that isn't exactly the issue. The key listed in that symantec page does
not exist and neither does the executable. I had already read it before
asking about this on the group.
