I have ACCPAC Plus which is a dos based program and am having problems using it in XP. I get error message "to many open files" when trying to post transactions. I've checked my accpac user book and they suggest adding a line in the config or autoexec file to increase the number of files. I've contacted Accpac themselves and they say they haven't tested it with XP and basically i'm on my own. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem or should I just throw my pc out the window?

I wouldn't recommend throwing out your PC just because one DOS program
doesn't work out of the box. Try adding the appropriate files entry to
config.nt found in \windows\system32.
