dos + windows2000

hello ... :)

we have a 6pc network running windows 2000, and our administration program
is still running in a DOS window.

now I just replaced the oldest pc with a new Pentium IV - 2.6MHZ, in which I
kept the old hard disk ...

all network/programs are running fine, except the DOS program ... ???

the error I get is "divide overflow" ....

it doesn't make any difference whether I use a batch program, or do it step
by step ... same error shows up ...

in the MS knowledge base, little is mentioned about this DOS error, apart
from suggesting that there might be a hardware problem (but does that rime
with all other programs working fine ... ?)

does anybody have any experience with such problems ... ?

many thanks beforehand ...

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=279792

I have seen this error message with 3Com DOS network drivers and fast
computers. 3Com released new drivers, which solved the problem, but
only until the computers got even faster. We can simply not use that
particular adapter with DOS anymore, since all our computers are too
fast.

I suspect that, even if you installed proper DOS on your new computer,
you'd get the same problem.
