DOS program not working

Ok, I have searched the net, and the microsoft site
looking for an answer. Well at least trying to find out
if there is any way of getting this old dos program I
have and love to work in XP.

When I load the program the dos window comes up and I get
the message (in the dos window) "not enough room for
environment".

I have checked the autoexec.nt and config.nt according to
microsoft and other sites and still it won't work. I have
tried the shortcut and telling it to run compatiable to
Win98 and 95. still get the same message.

Any help would be great. Thanks

Make a shortcut to the program, by r-dragging it to the desktop and
'create shortcut here' Now right click that, Properties, and on the
Memory page is a drop-down where you can increase the Initial
environment
