DOS printing problem

Rob

I have a customer that has an old DOS based program. The
only way I've been able to get her computer to print from
DOS (either the program or from the command prompt) is to
go into device manager and change the port designation
from lpt1 to lpt2, click on apply, and after it is set to
lpt2, change it back again to lpt1. At this point, it will
print to the local printer just fine. However, if the
computer is restarted, you have to go through this "2 port
shuffle" in order to re-activate the port again. Any
suggestions as to how to rectify this problem would be
greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Rob

Rob, Dale,
I too am having this same issue, please help!!

you can redirect the output to a file, than have Printfil sending it to any
Windows printer, local, networked or virtual.
More info and a free trial are available at http://www.guolo.com/printfil

Kind regards,
