About to buy new computer.

Can XP Professional run DOS applications such as
Wordperfect 6.0c; Lotus 123 V4

It can run many, but not all, DOS applications. I have no
personal experience with either under XP, but I *believe* I've
read that WordPerfect 6 runs fine; take that with a grain of
salt, however; I might be wrong.

Regarding Lotus 123, I don't know.

Hello Larry:

Ken gave you a good answer. To add to what he said - based on my own
experience, XP will generally run a DOS program if it behaves itself.
In other words, the DOS program does not try to directly access
hardware without going through the OS in the proper way. Usually that
sort of thing happens with DOS games when they try to manipulate sound
and video. My best guess is that WP 6.0 and Lotus 123 will run OK.
