Dos application (Compatibility)

Dear Users,

When I try to run a very old DOS app in windows-xp
environment I get a message error of abnormal program
termination.:

Abnormal program termination: Stack Fault
CS:EIP = 000Fh:00001373h

does it say something to you? Can any of you help me to
find out how to overcome this problem?

Its quite possible that the application is not XP compatible. Hav you tried
app compat mode for the DOS app?

I tried everything...but I didn't find any credible
solution for this issue.

VMWARE was the only solution that works. However this
software is, let's say, not too cheap!!

I need something that allow an old app to run on a true
DOS environment under Windows XP.
