Donwngrading xp

Need some Help!

I currently have XP on my system, and i want to remove it
completely, then reinstall win98se.

I've tried reformatting from a win98se bootdisk, but i
keep getting "Bad command or filename" responses.

All i want to do is remove XP - why isnt it simple???

HELP!
