Don't show me this update again

My computer (Windows XP SP2) has the automatic upodates set to advise only
and allow me to select what to down load as required. I update all the
relevant ones, but some I do not require as I do not run those programes (I
also have a very slow and limited internet connection). The next time I
check, all the updates I checked not to download are still sitting there.

I see on the help site that there is an option to "Don't show me this update
again", but not sure where to enable this option. Can anyone assist please.

To avail yourself of that you have to actually visit the update site
and manually check for updates.

If you go to the Windows Update website: http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com,
get the list, expand the '+' on the ones you don't want to see again & then
tick the box not to show update again. This should once & for all stop the
updates in Windows Update & Automatic Updates

I hope this helps,

Are you running XP Home, XP Media Center, or XP Home.?

If you are running Home, then below IS your solution.
If you are running Media Center, or Pro, there's a Group Policy Editor fix
you can use. It's called IE70Blocker.
