After uninstalling pc anywhere from my win2000 AD , non of my pcs in the lan
are able to logon to the domain. I can go online from any client and I can
browse resource on the server if I login locally to any of the clients on the
LAN.
Restart DNS and net logon to no avail . Any suggestions

Honestly, I can't see how uninstalling PC Anywhere has a factor here. To
diagnose this is rather extermely difficult to ascertain with the info you
provided. We will need much more info to help out.

Just an FYI, to logon and authenticate to a domain, (among other functions),
DNS is used to initially find a domain controller. If no one can logon, the
classic cause of this problem, and hence the reason for my intial *guess*,
is that DNS is either misconfigured or you are using an ISP's DNS address in
your client and DC's IP properties. An ISP's DNS doesn't know where your
domain controllers are. This is a classic issue. Use only your internal DNS
server(s).

A multihomed domain controller/DNS server can cause the same thing if not
configured properly.

If you can, to better assist you, pleas post:

Oops, sorry, I hit the send button too soon.

If you can provide this info, it will help us to better assist:

1. Unedited ipconfig /all from a DC and one of your clients.
2. The exact zone name spellng in DNS and whether updates are allowed on the
zone.
3. The AD DNS domain name as it shows up in ADUC.
4. If the SRV records exist under the zone in DNS.

Thanks,
Ace

Thanks for your reply

All nodes On the LAN are setup as a DHCP clients. I've had any issue with
any system logon to he DC till today . I check the setting on the client
setup as well the server. Nothing has changed.I can ping and UNC to the
resource on the server. I even removed one box out the domain and still was
not able to join the domain. Something happened on the server which causing
the domain not to be available .

It would be very helpful to know more about your system, otherwise, it's
really totally guesswork at this time. Put yourself in our shoes. Wouldn't
you want more info?

Ace,
I can ping the DC which is the only box I have in my domain, and I
can ping it by netbois name. I am not sure what info you need to further
assist me with this issue. Let me what exactly do you need and I will provide
