domain security policy keeps reseting to default value

Hello,

I have windows 2000 that keeps reseting the maximum password age back to the 42 day defaul
entry. This does it randomly I have not been able to determine what is causing it. It does rese
back to the 42 days after a reboot that is the only time I can reproduce it.
In my domain I have one other server that acts as a bdc.

Any ideas?

Password policy can only be configured at the domain level - normally in Domain
Security Policy, though any domain GPO above the default domain GPO can configure
domain policy. Make sure that block inheritance is not configured on the domain
controller container and that your domain controllers are in the domain controller
container. It could also be a replication/configuration problem. I would first run
netdiag and then dcdiag on your domain controllers looking for any failed tests or
warnings that may be pertinent and check the Event Viewer for errors. --- Steve
