Doesn't stay online

I have Windows XP and running cable modem. Can only get online when I
restart and then it stays online for about ten minutes and loses connection
or something. Strange thing about it is that the cable modem is connected and
has a good signal, restart and same thing happens. Any suggestions?

What is the virus/malware status of the computer? If you think it is
clean, what programs (and versions) did you use to determine this?

I suggest you telephone the cable company and explain the problem to them. I
am using comcast and have always gotten my problems solved by calling them.

Had the same problem with my Road Runner cable connection. I checked
everything and updated everything. I even called for help and they couldn't
solve it, since I pretty much did everything they wanted me to do. In the
end, I missed out on the most important component, the cable modem itself.
If none of the tips given work for you, I would suggest calling them and ask
them if you could exchange your modem for a new one.
