Hi to all,
I have a vaio fx 250 (P III processor, 20 gig hd, 128 mb ram, cdrw ..)
that came out with windows OS ME installed. I am wandering if
someone could tell me if it's possible to upgrade to XP Pro or to
windows 2k pro ? thank you

Yes, it is. However, you need to go to the Sony web site to get
instructions. There are several things you have to do before you start the
upgrade. The web site has detailed instructions which must be carefully
followed.

You should check with Sony tech support. You can look for your model on
their website. You will need drivers for XP for all the hardware in
your machine, and if Sony didn't write them you'll be out of luck.
Definitely you should download and run the Windows XP Upgrade Advisor,
which you can get here:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/howtobuy/upgrading/advisor.asp

You'll want more RAM, too. Even though it might meet minimum
requirements, 128MB of RAM isn't enough to run XP well. You'll want at
least 256MB.
