I meant that PM is not compatible when you run it from within vista

So I understand -- I just wanted to clarify for others.

BTW Does anyone know if GPARTED will safely alter a partition that has
VISTA in it and VISTA "characteristics" compared to earlier NTFS?

I've asked the same question here and never got an answer, but I'd
love to know. I can tell you I would never try it on an important
machine until I'd tried it several times on a test machine first.
Meanwhile, I rely on Acronis Disk Director Build 2160 which is
Vista ready.

I don't know anything compared to what needs to be discovered....

The above speaks for itself .. you just fell into the singularity of a

I agree -- I guess one of us better ask GPARTED.
