does UAC mean?

UAC: Useless Annoying Crap?

Even Microsoft admitted that it is not a real security measure...
also as I predicted, people say they get so annoyed by it that either they
turn it off
or they click on it mechanically without reading it each time....

Vista is a sad OS...

I dont consider Vista a sad OS. Every piece of software has it troubles at
the start. Give it time to redeem itself and if you still dont like it then
dont post it on here cause I can speak for most of us when I say noone cares.
Thanks.

In the times of nazis... you could speak of hitler and you would get the
same reply:
"I can speak for most of us when I say noone cares. "

The masses can be persuaded to believe any crap... and you just fell into
the crap trap.

Jim,

Just as you previously predicted, again, your statements are
self-descriptive, why are you repeatedly such a useless annoying piece of
crap?

It’s more than obvious that you have no technical knowledge of Windows Vista…

lol... I know more about vista than most of the people in here, most
probably even you..
have been beta testing it since it was called longhorn... have used it for a
long time..
yes RTM too....

after getting fed up with the fud, i installed XP again and am very happy.

vista is a stupid OS and should be avoided until 10 core cpus come out...
with 128 gb ram.... the bloat is incredible

Then don't use it. I _have_ to use Vista at work because we have to test it
but here at home I'm intending sticking with XP on my desktop for a good
while yet.

One thing I will say is that you're obviously running as Admin. UAC as
designed will make a little more sense if you run as a normal user account.
You might consider giving that a go and see if it works out any better for
you.

Nobody is forcing you to buy or use it.

Go back to Windows 1.0. Obviously progress annoys you.

Why oh why is it always the utterly clueless people that makes dumb
comments?

If you bothered to check you would see many people that are
professionals have come out against UAC because they know what it
doesn't do, worse wasn't even designed to do and most telling of all,
Microsoft ADMITS wasn't designed to do.

This would be a good time to mention ignorance is bliss.

I am a professional and have monitoring all aspects of vista very closely...

UAC is bad... very bad..... bad idea and even worse implementation of a bad
idea...

UAC is dangerous... its misleading and annoying...

If UAC does nothing more than remind me that I am about to do something
dangerous and I may want to review the information displayed in the prompt,
it has done its job and done it well!

I get reminders for appointments at work from Outlook. Sometimes, I close
the reminder without realizing what it said. And I miss a meeting. And I
get in trouble. And it's my own fault. If I don't read the notice, it is
not the fault of the notice of of Outlook.

Yep, UAC sucks, so turn it off. I bet every MS OS has had some piece
of crap new feature that people didn't use or turned off.

Look at it this way. If you had a small business with 5 or 10 people on your
company network, and they usually spent their time downloading and
installing crap that wasted time, broke things, and eventually had to be
removed, you'd be saying "Thank God for UAC".

But you're right. MS knows the average end user is going to turn off UAC if
they can. That's why there's a simple option to turn it off. But you have to
look at it from the standpoint of cars too. A lot of people drive without
their seatbelts on. But that's not a good reason for car manufacturers to
stop putting seatbelts in cars.
