Does the Text format have a size limit?

I formatted a cell in Excel as Text and had a paragraph in the cell. It
displayed as ##################### no mater what I did. When I changed the
format for the cell to 'general', it displayed the words correctly. Does
Text now have a size limit or something?

If the length of the string is between 256 and 1024 (inclusive), then you'll see
this problem. 255 or shorter or 1025 or longer and you'll be fine.
