Does Spyware afftect Secure Internet Sites?

Hi all,

I've installed the Beta Spyware from Microsoft recently.
My internet Explorer no longer can access Secure Sites
(https://....) Instead, I get "Page Cannot Be displayed".
I've talked to several Technical Support sources, and
they've made sure that the necessary settings have all
been turned on. I have Service Pack 2 for Windows XP.
Prior to installing the Spyware, everything ran fine. I've
tried turning off all the functionalities that the Spyware
offers from the taskbar icon.

Will reinstalling IE 6 solve problem?
Is there anything in Spyware from Microsoft that could
possibly block me from accessing a secure site?

I'm a novice user and would appreciate some advice on this
issue.

Regards,

Gary

Gary,

I might suggest getting a BHO scanner. Sounds like to me that your IE is
not feeling too well.
I installed and am using the Beta and my IE is fine. Plus, I am running
Advent browser (which uses the Mozilla/IE engine) and it is fine too. I
access HTTP, HTTPS, & FTP sites with no problems.
