Does Replacing OEM Motherboard Affect Windows XP Authentication?

IBM/Lenovo wants to solve a problem I am having by replacing the
motherboard in my T60P laptop. I am not versed in how Windows XP is
linked to a specific motherboard for verification purposes, but, given
that this is an OEM Windows XP system, will I have problems with the
intrusive Windows XP Authentication process going forward (like whenever
I go for XP updates, etc.), or am I OK?

OEM versions of XP are *generally* not as affected with Activation
issues as RTM versions are. If Lenovo is replacing the motherboard with
a similar motherboard, then there should be no issue.
If such an issue arose all it would take is a phone call to MS in order
to rectify it.

You will have no difficulty as long as the Motherboard is the same make
and model. That's my understanding.
