does not display html code when clicking on viewsource

when i right click on a page and hit view source it
doesnt display anything, it used to open up notepad but

This is another manifestation of corrupted cache (like when you can only save
images as .bmp). Manually clear cache (TIF), then restart IE. It should be
okay.

This is usually fixed by emptying the Temporary Internet Files.

Also, if you have a shortcut to Notepad on your desktop rename it to Npad.

Some people have reported that Quick View Plus can cause this.
