Does Front Page Have PayPal-Compatible Shopping Cart Tools?

Jack Danniel

I have a quick question about Front Page 2003:

Does it have any components for building a PayPal e-cart shopping
cart? If it does not, are there any decent freeware (or inexpensive
shareware) add-ins that permit simple, basic shopping cart
construction that will work with PayPal?

Thank you.

FP doesn't specifically have any PayPal features or functions, but you can create the form needed.
The best source for PayPal shopping carts and FP add-ins can be found by reviewing the content of
the PayPal developer section on PayPal.

Yikes, I should have mentioned I wasn't particularly interested in
PayPal's own tools.

I'm more interested in something like this:

I thought Front Page had something along the lines of shopping cart
tools, but I guess I was wrong.

I want something that looks like an Amazon.com-style shopping cart,
only uses PayPal instead of credit cards directly, which would require
me either becoming a merchant, or subscribing to a merchant service.

PayPal's own tools are adequate, but to me it doesn't feel quite like
Amazon.com or Walmart.com's shopping carts.

Thanks for the replies.

However, on the PayPal's Developer site you will find links to shopping cart providers that support
PayPal as a payment option or only PayPal

I think I'll hunt around for shopping cart software. Thanks for the
replies.

After 3 weeks of researching shopping carts, I hope I can help. The
best shopping carts are written in PHP and my web host agreed to
install a PHP shopping cart on my site called osCommerce. The user
interface allows you many many options. In the end, you can pass the
total amount that a customer spends to be paid to PayPal.

Surf the different shopping carts at www.hotscripts.com First, you
need to select the programming language, PHP. (Select Javascript if
you want to cut and paste the code into your site directly.) Read the
details so that you find a script that has all the features that you
want. Ask your web host if it is compatible with their server. Ask
your web host to install it. Mine will install mine for $20 which is
a bargain.

If your web host will not install it, check out www.Help4Hosters.com
and they will do the installation for you. They charge $20 to install
osCommerce but they will install other scripts for you also.

FrontPage should have a shopping cart and I am disappointed that the
do not. No matter what kind of shopping cart you use, a lot of data
will be passed.

Good Luck,
Mary

There is a FrontPage plugin at PayPal to make adding PayPal shopping cart
buttons, etc. very easy. Need more? Check out e-cart at
www.code9software.com $50 and PayPal ready.
