Gurus,

Does anyone have a good recommendation for a legitimate/safe tool that
monitors changes to the registry? In looking for such a tool, I do not want
to introduce further spyware into the system.

monitoring the registry
is not worth while.

monitoring the r/w's to
it is for zombies.

but regmon from
microsoft.com might
be your poison..

Straight from your link:

Note: Filemon and Regmon have been replaced by Process Monitor on versions of
Windows starting with Windows 2000 SP4, Windows XP SP2, Windows Server 2003 SP1,
and Windows Vista. Filemon and Regmon remain for legacy operating system
support, including Windows 9x.

a lady and a illuminati,
you could be as well.... : )

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/240797/:

Warning Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly
by using Registry Editor or by using another method. These problems might
require that you reinstall the operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee
that these problems can be solved. Modify the registry at your own risk.

No. The tool was never the problem. The problem is what you actually "do" to
the registry. What tool you use is not going to change that.

The most common tool besides regedit is Group Policy,..and rest assured you can
still really screw things up with Group Policy. The tool isn't the problem, its
the Admin.
