Documents & Settings user folder

Hi,

I've just reinstalled XP SP1 on my computer named DELL and when I look
in the Documents & Settings folder I can find 2 folders with my name :
One is simply Joe
the second is Joe.DELL (which is the active one)

In my previous XP SP1 installation, I just had a Joe folder
can somebody explain me why I now have a Joe.DELL ? and if i can
remove it

FYI, I can also find a "Default User" and a "Default User.WINDOWS" and
a "All Users" and a "All Users.WINDOWS". I didn't had these .WINDOWS
folders previously

Thanks for your help

When you did the reinstall, the installer created these profiles for
Default User and All Users with the suffix. When you created a "joe"
account, there was already a joe folder in your D&S, but it is an orphan
(it has no SID, it is only a folder, not an account). Faced with this
situation, Windows added a suffix to create a unique folder for your joe
account.

I've reinstalled and everything is fine now
