document map panel

hi community

how can i turn off the doucment map panel because everytime when i open a
new document with data, the document map panel will automatically display on
my left side of the word window....????? I am using word 2003

any help much appreciated :)

It's the button next to (left of) the paragraph-symbol (Show Non-
Printing Characters) button on your toolbar.
