I have been working on a large Word document and have been saving it to disk
as I go. I recently added another 5 pages to the document and when I was done
I saved it to disk again and subsequently removed the disk from the drive and
shut down Word. I later reopened the document to continue adding to it and
found that the last 5 pages are not there, what comes up is where I had left
off the night before. Is there any way I can retrieve those 5 pages?

Are you sure you didn't save it to a different location? Do a search for
the file name on your computer and maybe you can find it. Otherwise, (I
think) you are out of luck.

Oh dear. You should never save Word documents to floppy disk while working on
them. Always save to your hard drive and then copy to the floppy once you've
finished editing if you need a portable copy of the document.
If you have something like Norton Utilities you might be able to recover the
undamaged portion of your file, but apart from that, it is probably gone
forever.
