doc file seen as scr file why?

Why would an email containing a .doc file be incorrectly recognised as a
..scr file therefore being stripped by my mail server security program (
Mdaemon )

No. It was actually called english description.doc

Just to confirm, you know the file did not have a double extension because
the Windows Explorer settings were set to NOT hide known file extensions,
for instance?
If so, I have no idea what is wrong, especially if other doc files are
handled correctly.
