I have microsoft Word 2007 When I click the windows symbol I get a recent
document heading I can click to open but nowhere to delete all the list I do

Here's an idea that should help:

Post questions about Word in a Word-specific newsgroup, such as
microsoft.public.word.newusers. The people who hang out in that group
probably will know how to do what you want, or will at least be able to tell
you it's not possible to do what you want.

This newsgroup if for questions about Vista mail, hence the name
microsoft.public.windows.vista.mail.
