Does a PC need a user (any user, not just admin) to be logged into a
Windows XP PC in order for scheduled automatic updates to be
downloaded and installed?

Or can it download/install if the pc is switched on but at the ctrl+alt
+delete login screen?

TIA.

If no user is logged in, no settings are in place, no background
programs are running.

DUH!
