Do NOt Know Which Function to Use

B

Hi All:

I am working with a cash forecast model (same one as before) and I have a
probelm that I have not encountered before.

I have two separate dates on two separate columns and rows with a column of
dates for payroll. I am trying to create a formula that will use the two
initial dates as a control field and the actual payroll dates to drive the
results.

Column A Column B
R1 01/01/08 01/15/08
R2 01/07/08 01/23/08 etc....

R4 1/05/08 $$$$.$$
R5 1/20/08 $$$$.$$
R6 etc....
R7 etc...

I have tried an "IfThen" type logic but it errors out.

Thanks in advance for your help and advance.

I am assuming a lot of things here in my post. I am assuming that the
A1 is the start date and that B1 is the end date. And you want to
total hours in another column that is not represented here will call
it C. So you want to find how many hours were worked between A1:B1.
=SumProduct((A4:A7>=A1)*(A4:A7<=B1)*(C4:C7)) If this is not the type
of thing that you are looking for repost with more specifics.

Thanks,
Jay
