Do I really need these things to operate?

Somehow my grandson loaded these, Learn 2 player, Microsoft.Net Framework
1.1, Hotfix (K8886903) 2, and 3, Compression client pack 1.0 for Windows XP,
User mode driver framework feature pack 1.0, Visual C++ 2005 redistributable.
All I want is IE7 and hotmail.

I'm not familiar with this. I believe it is associated with AOL. It is not
needed for the OS to run. See this link for info:

Microsoft.Net Framework

I'm not sure what the 2 means after the KB number in parethesis, but since
..Net is installed you should have this hotfix too. The real issue is do you
have a need for .Net. It is not required for the OS to operate but some 3rd
party programs require it. In any event you can leave it installed, it
won't hurt anything.

Here is some info on the Compression client pack.

I don't see where you need that.

They are all standard Microsoft updates except "Learn2player". I wouldn't
uninstall any except this one.
