Do I need to uninstall MSAS?

Do I need to uninstall MS AntiSpyware (beta 1) before installing Windows
Defender (beta 2)? Is there any benfit to leaving beta 1 installed?

The first time I installed W Defender, I let it uninstall MSAS, but that was
not a complete uninstall - there were MSAS components and shortcuts left.

I chose to remove both completely and do a clean fresh install of Defender
and got better results.
