do I need to reinstall sp2?

I installed sp2 on a windows xp pro machine. Several days after this I added
IIS to the installation via add/remove programs, windows components. During
the process of adding IIS I was prompted for my Windows XP Installation CD.
I browsed to a local copy of the I386 folder from the original CD and the
installation completed.

1) obviously the files used from the cd's I386 are pre-sp2. Do I need to
reinstall sp2 or does XP automatically re-apply from locally cached sp2
files?

2) in the case that I do need to reinstall should I have instead browsed to
the locally cached sp2 files rather than what I did? would that have
prevented having to reinstall sp2?

any info is appreciated. Thanks.

havn't really used it yet to know. I was more or less just asking as a
general question on the right way to do this when adding anything to the
system that would require you to insert the cd or take system files again
from the source AFTER a service pack was installed. My biggest concern is to
undo important security updates that these service packs provide. I know,
even in windows 2000, there is something in place that prevents you from
having to reinstall service packs after EVERY little system change like you
used to have to do with NT4. But, I'm not sure on the specific cases that
you would indeed still need to re-apply a service pack. I do know that these
specific cases do exist and when I found myself browsing to my own I386
directory (which of course does not have updated files) I was wondering if I
just created one of these specifc cases.
