J Jack \(MVP-Networking\). May 16, 2007 #2 Hi Since Windows XP is monitoring only incoming traffic I usually employ a 3rd party Firewall that monitor both in and out traffic. http://www.ezlan.net/security.html Jack (MVP-Networking).

The windows firewall is OK and provides basic incoming protection but does nothing for outgoing protection, as in responding to malwares etc.. ZoneAlarm is a very good product, and even their free version is much better and more user friendly than the windows firewall. HTH Pop`
