Do you have forwarders defined?
What is the forwarding timeout value?
What are the IP addresses of the forwarders?

The Ttl on these records is thirty seconds so they won't stay in cache long,
this could be a slow connection from your DNS server to the forwarder or it
could be the forwarder itself. Try turning off the forwarder, wait thirty
seconds and try the name again.
