DNS Root Hints

We've recently changed Our External DNS. We used to host
them and now we have give it to our ISP Provider. We are
windows Active Directory shop and our Active Directory
integrated DNS has forwarders pointing to our ISP. We've
just noticed that our Root hints in our Internal DNS has
only 2 records..A.Root and B.Root...My question is what
happened to the remainder of our root hints and whether
they really are needed.
