DNS resolution in AD with multiple child domains

E

Eric Skarphol

We have an AD integrated DNS system with multiple child
domains. The clients of the child domains can not ping
hosts (by hostname) in another child domain unless they
use the FQDN. In order to do this I can see that creating
a DNS suffix list on every client or setting up secondary
zones on each site's DC would resolve the problem. Is
there any other way to do this?

TIA
Eric

WINS? That's one way, it's actually easier. ALso, Network Neighborhood will
work between the domains too.

At least you can resolve thru FQDN properly, which is good.
