DNS Old Host Names

I changed a computer name on a machine and my network sniffer device still
picks up the old host name of the computer sometimes. I changed the computer
name over 6 months ago. Is there a registry key in Windows XP that may keep
an old computer name somewhere? Has anyone heard of this before?

Possibly stale DNS records. This can happen depending on how the DHCP
server is configured or because of computer name changes. See:

Look at the output of the sniffer an determine
which machine is the source of these packets.

I'd guess some machine has a mapped network drive to the old name.
