DNS failures and picture display problems....

For the past few days, whenever I use the search bar on
my MSN homepage, I will get an error notice saying
there's been a DNS failure and that the server is unable
to service my request...try again later. It only happens
when I click the search button, and it only happens off
and on...

As for pics displaying improperly, there was an update
that had a caveat ... if you download that update some
pictures made in some kind of program wouldn't display
properly. Maybe that's the problem...

Clear the IE cache. I.E./Tools/Options/General/Delete files (and delete
offline content.) It's often recommended that the Temporary Internet Files
(folder) be kept at
40-50 MB. Bigger isn't necessarily better.

As for your search problem, rule out parasites.

Try this: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing
Uncheck the Enable 3rd party browser extensions

If this clears your problem then find out who the culprit(s) is/are with
these tools.

Let AD-Aware Scan your system for advertising Spyware

p.s Reset the 3rd party browser setting.

More: This may be caused by a third-party program (adware, spyware,
parasite).

autosearch....

DNS Failure.

I think Microsoft built a redirect into their MSN search site for those who wanted to use an alternative autosearch setting and I'll
bet that they've lost the site or it has been hacked.
