DNS are not cleaned automatically

I have a problem with our DNS servers on a school network
DNS are not cleaned automatically
We have much importance at those cleaning, because many images are put back etc
However, in Active Directory stand much old, unused hostnames
My question is how I can let clean DNS automatically. So that these hosts are removed automatically
We’ve got a network with 3 locations and 4 DNS servers. We work with 2 domains.
(1 for teachers, administration, governing board etc. and 1 for the students)
At properties of the domain. Tab Advanced, have I already incited the option: “Enable automatic scavenging of stale recordsâ€
We have established several times, on all servers and both servers, but it helps all nothing

That's one half of what you have to do. Have you done the other half ?
(Read the product documentation.)

You haven't even told us whether the records that you want to scavenge
are actually added dynamically in the first place. Are they ?

You need to enable Aging and Scavenging in DNS. See this knowledge base
article for more information:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;296116.

The DNS whitepaper also has a great discussion on this. You can find it at
http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/docs/w2kdns.doc. I'd recommend reading
each fully before implementing Aging sand Scavenging.
