dmz?

Hello,

I'm working on setting up a dmz to place our mail server into, and I was
wondering if there is any reason I couldn't plug a cross over cable into the
port on the patch panel for the mail server and run that down to our
firewall instead of physically moving it next to the firewall and using the
cross over cable?

It seems to me like It should work fine, you are just sending current
though the wires and it does cross over at one point.
 
Should be no problem. I use a small 5 port 10/100 linksys switch for the
DMZ, and of course public addressing. I've got a couple PowerPoint slides
that I used to illustrate it for various PHB's. Email me if you want a copy.
