One of Norton's system programs keeps telling me that mscoree.dll is missing or corrupted. Norton will repair it then after a scan is done it will show the same error. Is this an essential Windows file or not? Is there anywhere I can find a listing of valid system dlls for WIndows XP Professional?
This is part of the dot NET framework. Many of us don't use
it as it slows the net down some, while adding security.
If you decide to install dot NET 1.1, Its available at
windows update.
If not open registry editor and search for the mscoree.dll
and delete the 2-3 instances that come up. Close all keys
and refresh registry. Exit registry editor, and restart
system. Norton should then leave you alone.
