Hi,

I have about 20 dll files in the System32 folder which seem to be older
versions or copies. For example ole(4).dll. Can I delete these files safely.

Many Tanks,

I'm almost certain that you can, but, for a bit of extra safety, try
renaming them to ***.dllold, and seeing how your system runs for a few days.
If all is well, then I'd say it's safe to delete them. Or move them out to a
"junk" directory, for later disposal.

Thank you for replying, I will do that. But in a way the files are already
renamed, ole(4).dll is a copy of ole.dll, the 'working' file.
Can you tell me why the copies are still in the System32 folder and not
overwritten or deleted?
