Hi, I have purchased a DKU-5 cable (although not nokia genuine), to connect
to my PC and phone. I have downloaded the driver from the nokia website, as
per their compatability charts and rebooted my PC. When I connect the lead
hardware wizard detects the new hardware, but not the driver. The
instructions do talk about hardware wizard opening and helping you create a
vitural com port, but it dosn't get past looking for the driver. The lead
did come with software, but that does not seem to work either. Do i need a
different driver, as its not a nokia genuine lead or is there anyway I can
get my PC to recognise it with the driver already installed. Any
help/suggestions, most appreciated

Although you put your question in the wrong group, I'll answer you.
The cable you bought is not the same as the DKU-5 is only marketed by Nokia.
Your cable is suited for: http://www.opm-2.com/ Oxigen software to program
your phone.
You can however use the infrared port if you have one on your phone. That
depends on the type.

I have had the same problems ! If you go to the Nokiacom website you can find
ou which cable is compatible for your model of phone ! Mine is a Nok7260 and
was initially messing around with two lots of software and cables DKU 2
before finding out I needed a DKU 5 !! I have found that the ' USB not
detected ' error message does seem to be connected to the right type of cable
!-If thats any use to you ?
